One of our most popular offerings, Izola Mackerel Salad features ground mackerel shaped into two dumplings, marinated in a savory tomato sauce with diced carrots, turnips, green tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers and celery. For a quick and satisfying meal, serve our ground mackerel dumplings over mashed potatoes with chives, and bake together. Or heat and serve over warm and creamy polenta. Use Izola Mackerel Salad as a topping for a unique homemade flatbread or pizza, topped with grated Edam (or your favorite cheese), oregano and a drizzle of olive oil. One of the most nutritious fish one can consume, mackerel is an excellent source of Omega 3 fatty acids, protein and vitamins in minerals including B12 and selenium.
